Located in the heart of the city and just in the vicinity of Howrah station,the college is well connected by train and bus routes.It is in close location proximity with the main hub of the cultural ebullience of the district.In view of its geographical position,the college is the centre of higher education for girl students of Howrah & adjacent districts and even Kolkata.
The college,financial and other constraints not with standing,offers a plethora of facilities and is dedicated to the task of developing both intellectual and humane acumen in its students-the ultimate objective being to enable them to make significant contribution to the uplift of the society at large.
The college has four academic blocks.(1)Main Building(2)Science Building(3)New Building(4)Golden Jubilee and Annexe Building(constructed from the contribution made from the local MP LAD Fund).In addition to them,the office and library are placed in a seperate building. The building have quite judiciously been rte-named as follows:- (I) Main Building- Nirajana; (II) Science building- Eshona; (III) New Building- Sandipana; (IV) Golden Jubilee Annexe building - Upasana; (V) Teachers'Room & Bio-Science building - Prajna and (VI) Office-Library building with Computer Science block - Medha. The College has 55 well-equipped class rooms, laboratories,air-conditioned computer rooms, Students' Common Room, Auditorium and Yoga practising room. A seperate toilet complex has been constructed from the contribution made by local MLA out of local area development fund (MLA LAD FUND).Another floor in Upsana Building has already been completed to fulfil the increasing demand for space. The college auditorium (Jibanananda Sabhagriha) has been beautified with coloured seating arrangements & printed copy of beautiful pictures by renowned artists of Bengal. A pond with crystal clear water simmering in sunshine is an added attraction of the campus. A guard wall around the pond has been installed with adequate gardening arrangement & proper fencing.A kitchen has been added to the canteen to improve the canteen service made available to the students.A well maintained garden is a piece of eye soother to all entering the college campus.Classes of newly introduced courses will be held in the new floor of the Golden Jubilee building. We are proud to mention that we have received Rs.1 crore for building a girls' hostel from UGC for the benefit of the students coming from far away places and construction work is going on in full force.The main onus is on Howrah Improvement Trust. As a CPE college we have already received Rs. 50 lakhs for both academic infrastructural development from UGC & expect to get another 50 lakhs totaling Rs. 1 crore.
